Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation

This is what many people in the United States refer to as Mommy make over when they talk about plastic surgery for mothers. Women after they are done with childbirth and delivery they are ready to change the changes associated with pregnancy and delivery. Breast lift surgery, breast augmentation surgery, tummy tucks, liposuction and body contouring surgeries are the main cosmetic procedures needed as far as cosmetic plastic surgery. This lady had a breast lift and a breast augmentation or breast enhancement. What is interesting about this lady is that when I began to do the breast lift or mastopexy operation I noticed that breast milk was coming out of the nipples. Furthermore during the surgery I noticed that breast milk was present in her milk ducts (lactiferous ducts). I decided to do the breast lift procedure only and come back at a later time to do the breast augmentation part. Why? Because I want to always be super careful with my operations and I felt that I did not want to place breast implants in the breasts when there was so much breast milk present. I felt that the potential contact of the breast implants with the breast milk could potentially predispose the breast implants to infection. That is not a fact actually but I like to be conservative and always prudent. Her husband was outside the surgery room so I spoke to him and asked him permission to change plans and he agreed. So I did the breast lift operation (mastopexy) in one surgery. Then after a few months I returned and did the breast augmentation or breast enhancement part. Many seasoned cosmetic plastic surgeons feel it is better to split the two operations actually and do them at different times. That is they feel it is better to do the breast lift part first and then do the breast augmentation part at another time. What is important in this case is that she has no breast scars under the breast! When I do the breast lift and breast reduction procedures I usually avoid making scars or incisions under the breast. That is better to minimize the breast incisions and the patients really appreciate it. The rest of the breast lift incisions around the nipple and under the nipple usually heal very well I time. The breast implants that I used on her were 400cc saline filled breast implants. These breast implants were high profile that I overfilled. At a later time I did a tummy tuck on her also known in cosmetic surgery as abdominoplasty. She also had some liposuction of the flanks at the time of her tummy tuck. She is obviously very happy.

This is one of the most difficult operations in plastic surgery, because it is actually two operations done at once and they have different and opposing effects. The breast augmentation expands the breast and pushes outward and lowers the infra-mammary fold. The breast lift does the opposite: it pushes the breast up and raises the infra-mammary fold. This patient had 400 cc high profile saline filled breast implants and a full lift done with a short scar only. The results that you see here are after 6 months. Notice how breast asymmetry was corrected with this surgery, which was hard to do.

This lovely patient had a combination of two procedures done: full breast lift and breast augmentation with cohesive silicone gel implants. Results shown are 2 months post surgery, and notice the look of the scars just 2 months out. Patient is very happy now with having lifted/perky breasts, teardrop 💧shaped breasts, and very natural-looking breast augmentation.
